Indicolite and Pearls

What makes these earrings so special is that they are made with 22 kt. gold.  High count gold is a jeweler’s dream material.  It has a deep rich yellow color; it is soft and malleable, and yet it will rarely break, damage or lose its luster and beauty.  The price of anything executed in 22 kt. gold reflects the fact that its alloy is made up of 91.3% pure gold.

The removable drops are made of indicolite and Akoya pearls.

Indicolite is a tourmaline gemstone that ranges from light to a dark saturated blue.  The stones in these earrings represent the best color of indicoite.  They are combined with Akoya pearls.  Akoya pearls are the finest of pearls.  Unlike freshwater pearls, these pearls are cultivated in salt water in Japan.  Stores like Tiffany and Mikomoto sell only Akoya pearls because of the fine luster and near perfect shape.
